Everitt Ray Abbott, 76 of Marysville, IN passed away on Tuesday September 9, 2014 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.
He was born on June 25, 1938 to Hiram and Virginia Henderson Abbott in Clark County, IN. Ray was a union millwright for American Synthetic, I.C.I. of Americas and Rhodes, Inc. and a member of the Blazing Star Masonic Lodge #226 and a Son of the American Legion Post #335. He was preceded in death by his father, Hiram Abbott, son Charles Abbott, grandson Johnathon Abbott and great grandson Logan Ray Miller.
Survivors include his sons; David Abbott, Sr. (Cheri) of Charlestown, IN and Hiram E. Abbott (Susan) of Shively, KY, daughter; Lucy R. Hein of Charlestown, IN, mother; Virginia Abbott of Charlestown, IN, sister; Carmen Kesack of Sellersburg, IN, grandchildren; David Abbott, Jr., Erica Abbott, Miranda Harris, Matthew Abbott, Morgan Abbott, Jennifer Kane-Hein, and Tim Hein, great grandchildren; Abby Jo, Maci Grace and Hannah and special friend Evelyn Michael.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Barnes Cemetery near Nabb, IN. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
