Everett Wayne York, 85 of Charlestown passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
Mr. York was born July 13, 1931 in Eolia, KY the son of Coy and Mintia Boggs York. He was an Upholster, attended Chester Hogg Memorial Old Regular Baptist Church in Charlestown and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his sons, Philip York of Charlestown, Bruce Grimes(Wendy) of Louisville and James Grimes(Candice) of Radcliff, KY; daughters, Janice Burch(Michael) of Charlestown and Doris Campanga of Louisville; companion, Grace Grimes of Charlestown; brothers, Pat York of Charlestown, Carlos York of Henryville; and James York of Otisco; sisters, Yvonne Campbell of Jeffersonville and Sheila Dean of New Albany; grandchildren, Danielle and Stephen Grimes; several nieces and nephews. Mr. York was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Cora Nell York on August 7, 2005.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Friday until the time of services.
