Evelyn Dee Dishon

Ms. Dishon, born Oct. 23, 1928, passed away on December 11, 2008 at Sellersburg Health and Rehab Centre, after suffering from Parkinson's Disease for 22 years. She was greeted in Heaven by her Savior Jesus Christ and many beloved family members, husband, Kenely Allen Dishon, baby daughter Kathy, parents Quincy and Rachel Hardwick, brother Robert, sisters Elsie, Elaine, Della and Myrtle, and many life-long friends.

Evelyn leaves behind her daughters, Angela Hammons (Robert) and Linda True (Richard); grandchildren, Kelly Badger (David), Jennifer Allen (Craig), Robert Hammons (Marci); great grandchildren, Brenna and Noah Ross, Jacob Roberts, Mya and Emma Hammons. She is also survived by her sisters Christine McFelea, Zelma Ragle, Nancy Calhoun and Irene Jones.

In her lifetime, Evelyn wrote many beautiful poems; some of those are included in her journal, 'Passage In Time, A Walk by Faith', where she wrote about many of her life experiences. Evelyn made quilts for her family, loved to read and loved to cook. She spent 40 years at the North Charlestown Church of God and in her early years at the church, she played piano, guitar, sang, taught Sunday School and worshipped God with her friends. She had a special compassion for those who had lost loved ones and often cooked and delivered food to grieving families or those in need.

Evelyn will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends and her memory will live in their hearts forever.
