Eugene “Gene” Worley 60, of LaGrange, KY, and formally of Shelbyville, KY passed away in his sleep at home on June 30, 2024.
He was born on February 27, 1964, in Kaiserslautern, Germany to Donald G. Worley and Betty West Worley. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald G. Worley, brother-in-law, Jon Porter, nephew, Matthew Porter, niece, Jennifer Lynn Porter and great-nephew, Dillion Porter.
Gene was an avid “Bargain Hunter”, he loved to Yard Sale and barter. He collected Eagle Figurines and loved to tinker with engines. Duct tape was his best tool. Gene was also an organ donor.
He is survived by his mother Betty J. Worley of Taylorsville, KY; son, Kenneth “Kenny” Worley (Cassie) of Emporia, KS; five grandchildren Johnavin, MaKayla, Mariah, Lydia, and Samantha; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Faith, and Kaylyn; his partner, Jennifer Seay; sisters, Bonnie Anderson (David) of Louisville, KY, Regina Porter of Pleasureville, KY, Donna Williams (Frank) of South Carolina, Shannon Williams (Eddie) of Taylorsville, KY, his uncle, Lloyd Stottsberry, of Cobb, CA., “Uncle Gene” is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great nephews and a host of cousins.
Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life Service is being planned. The family requests are that each of you gather with your loved ones often and do not be too busy “making a living”, that you forget to make a life. Call your loved ones!
