Eugene Day, Sr., 75, of Borden passed away Thursday September 29, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on December 6, 1935 in Kings Creek, KY the son of Zack and Cora Day who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by a brother, J. D. Day and a sister Dixie Cissell.
Mr. Day was retired from ICI Americas in Charlestown and Morgan Packing Co. in Austin, IN. He was a member of Ivy Hill Baptist Church and a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Latham Day; sons, Earl E. Day, Scottsburg, IN, Dennis R. Day, Henryville, IN and Eugene Day Jr., Borden, IN; daughters, Barbara J. Combs, Henryville, IN, Mildred K. Presley, Nabb, IN, Annette Gater, Borden, IN and Patricia A. Morin, Mississippi; brother, Fred Day, Memphis, IN; sisters, Maxie Cissell, Memphis, IN and June Hardin, Sellersburg, IN; seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 3, 2011 at Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown with burial in Willey's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 5:00 to 8 P.M., Sunday 11:00 A.M. to 6 P.M. and after 9 A.M. Monday until time of service.
