Ethel Mae Newton 84 of Sellersburg, IN passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 15, 1940, in Wolf Creek, Kentucky to Lawrence and Fayme Pleasant Singleton. Ethel was a member of First Baptist Church in Charlestown and a retired Secretary and Treasurer for Greater Clark County Schools.  Ethel enjoyed her Longaberger baskets, reading, and cross-stitching.

Survivors include her husband Terry Newton, son, Rick Newton and his wife Susan of Charlestown, daughter, Michele Newton of Sellersburg; sister, Eunice Pollack of Hardinsburg, KY; grandchildren, Daniel Newton and his wife Sarah of Crestwood, KY, and Rebecca McKee and her husband, Aaron of Jeffersonville, IN; great-grandchildren, June, Jackson, and Grace.

Life Celebration Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Grayson Funeral Home with Burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
