Estill Wilder, 84 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Baptist Health Floyd with his family by his side.
He was born on November 29, 1936 in Hyden, KY the son of Bill and Ivory Barger Wilder. Estill was United States Navy Veteran, a former Coal Miner with Blue Diamond Coal Company in Leatherwood, KY and a retired Truck Driver for the Charlestown Ammunition Plant. He was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan, enjoyed reading his Bible, with his creative mind he enjoyed tinkering and creating just about anything, and was the greatest Daddy in the world.
Mr. Wilder is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lona Luster Wilder; sons, Shelby Wilder(Lorna) of Scottsburg, IN, Ric Wilder(Angela) of Clarkson, KY, Lonis Wilder(Joni) of Utica, IN and Douglas Wilder(Diana) of Corydon, IN; daughters, Gneva Sizemore(Ricky Dale) of Hyden, KY, Norma Britton(Garrett) of Sellersburg, IN, Janice Bridgewater(Boyd) of Charlestown, IN and Pam Snyder(Christopher) of Borden, IN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Estill was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ted, Arnold, Rufus, and Carlo Wilder; sisters, Sheila Walker, Della Whitehead and Alice Sizemore.
Life Celebration services for Estill will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday after 10:00 A.M.
