Esther Mae (Thompson) Cash

Esther Mae Cash, 82 of Charlestown died Sunday morning April 15, 2012 at her home.

She was born on July 30, 1929 in Crestwood, KY to Joseph Edward and Tessie Reynolds Thompson.  She was a devoted wife and mother and along with her husband they founded the North Charlestown Church of God where they served their community for 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Anna Margaret Shepard, a brother Edward “Pee Wee” Thompson and granddaughters Sheila Cook and Shannon Tucker.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years Rev. James G. Cash, Jr., sons; Arnold Cash (Lynda) of New Albany, IN, James A. Cash (Linda) of Jacksonville, FL and Bruce E. Cash (Kathy) of Charlestown, IN, daughter; Darlene Van Horn (Duane) of Buena Vista, CO., sister; Ella “Peach” Scruggs of Charlestown, grandchildren; Shelli Brooks, Kristi McLaughlin, David Stone, Dianne Cash, Joseph Cash, Bruce E. Cash, II, Bryan Cash and Candace Ramge and 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday April 18, 2012 at the North Charlestown Church of God, 3000 Edgewood Drive, Charlestown, IN 47111 and burial will be in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the church and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.  Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown is in charge of arrangements.
