Essie Marie Merritt Wooten

Essie Marie Merritt Wooten, 74, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at her home.
She was born on April 24, 1936 to Sanford Merritt and Marie Powell Egan in Hopkinsville, KY. She was a retired production worker for the old ICI Americas in Charlestown. She was a member of the Tony Stewart Fan Club, and a member of the Parkwood Church of Nazarene in Clarksville. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Teresa Jane Merritt, and her sister, Peggy Jo Reiter.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Ray Wooten; sons, Barry Traub (Diana) of Floyd Knobs, IN, Kevin Traub (Marina) of Charlestown, IN, Michael Traub of Bardstown, KY, and Jimmie Lee Wooten (LaDonna) of Benton, KY; daughter, Paula Cannon (Gary) of Jeffersonville, IN; sisters, Barbara Duncan of Jeffersonville, IN, and Janie Grimes of Jeffersonville, IN; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 7pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown. Visitation will be held after 3:30pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
