Mr. Mappins passed away Sunday December 6, 2009 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 7, 1932 in Nabb, IN the son of Emery and Verda Mae Johnson Mappins. Mr. Mappins worked as a payroll officer for the Naval Ordinance, was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, and served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife Betty Hodges Mappins of Clarksville, IN; sons Robert E. Mappins (Debra) of Charlestown, IN and James L. Mappins (Lottie) of Clarksville, IN; daughters LuAnn Snawder of Jeffersonville, IN and Jane K. Lewis of Scottsburg, IN; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
