Eric Wayne Barnes

Eric Wayne Barnes 54, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.

He was born March 26, 1970, in Louisville, KY to Sharon Mae Schmidt Barnes and the late David Lewis Barnes.

Eric was a long-time employee at the Ford Motor Company Truck Plant. He was an avid fisherman; there was nothing he enjoyed more than a day of fishing out on his boat. Aside from being a talented artist, he also had a deep love of music. Eric played and collected any instrument he could get his hands on. He was also a lifelong and faithful fan of Notre Dame football, but nothing made him light up more than seeing his grandbabies.

Along with his father, Eric is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Frances Bruner Mosby and Fern Crafton Barnes.

Eric is survived by his daughters, Kaela Anderson (Kyle) of Underwood, IN and Victoria Woods (Joseph) of Borden, IN, mother, Sharon Barnes of Sellersburg, grandchildren to carry on his memory, Macy Leigh, Isaac Wayne, Sawyer Lucas, Harper Mae, Jameson Lee and Sutton Lee; aunts, Darlene Cochran (Mike Akemon) of Charlestown and Mitzi Blanton (Brad) of Tennessee; uncle, Danny Barnes of Kentucky and his loving companion and favorite dog, Bogey.

Life Celebration Gathering will be on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown
