Emma Lou (Feye) Schafer

Emma Lou (Feye) Schafer, 89 of Marysville, IN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.  She spent her last week together with her children, along with visits from her daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Emma was born on March 20, 1933, in Kings Creek, Kentucky to the late William and Larcena (Mitchell) Feye.  She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a member of the Marysville Christian Church where she prepared communion for over 30 years.  Emma was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and loved all creatures big and small.  She was a good friend and a helpful neighbor.  Emma was married to Ervin Schafer for over 63 years and they walked through life together until his death in 2017.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Howard Schafer and wife Terri of Loudon, TN and Nancy Schafer of Louisville, KY, sister, Norma Hall of Lexington, KY, grandchildren, Holly, Patrick, Philip and Natasha, and great grandchildren, Ellie, Cameron, Brayson and Bailey.

Life Celebration Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, IN with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Thursday beginning at 9:00 am prior to her service.
