Elsie Marie (Alstott) Giltner

September 23, 1923 — February 9, 2018

Elsie Marie Giltner, 94 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday February 9, 2018 at Twin

Cities Hospital in Niceville, FL.

She was born on September 23, 1923 in Charlestown to the parents of Wesley and Clara Alstott

and she attended the red brick school house (Jonathan Jennings) on the town square. She worked

at the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant operated by DuPont during WWII and moved to Florida

in the 1960’s where she worked for Radiation, Inc. building components for the Space Program

at Cape Canaveral. She loved children and volunteered in the church nursery for many years.

Elsie is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Lee ‘Whitey’ Giltner. She is survived by her

son, Doug Giltner, Orlando, FL; daughter, Becky Cutcliffe-McClung and husband, Doyle

McClung, Baker, FL; sister-in-laws Fern Giltner and Virginia Waiz; two grandchildren, Michelle

Morrison and Douglas Giltner; and four great grandchildren, Noah and Jacob Morrison, and Sam

and Josh Giltner.

Visitation and Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 24th at Grayson

Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. The family requests that

expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Omaha Home for Boys.
