Elsie Marie Cochran

Mrs. Cochran passed away at St. Catherine Regional Hospital in Charlestown, IN on Wednesday June 2, 2010.

She was born Elsie M. Ettel on Feb. 20, 1925 in Jeffersonville, IN. Elsie was a beloved wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a long standing member of Main Cross Baptist Church. Her love and devotion to God and her church was known well to all who knew her. She has reached her goal for her Heavenly crown and now wears it in the presence of her Heavenly Father. She is dwelling in eternal peace.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years Herschel M. Cochran, father Henry Ettel, mother Alice M. Haverstick, daughter Phyllis A. Latham, five grandsons, and brothers David, Kenneth, George, Herbert, and Christopher Ettel.

Survivors include daughters Sandra K. Oldson of New Albany, IN, Ruth L. Miller (Thomas) of Charlestown, IN, W. Sue Rottet (Claude) of New Albany, IN and Alice G. Nixe (Ray) of Clarksville, IN; sons Donald C. and Gary H. Cochran both of Charlestown, IN; brother Ralph Ettel and sister Shirley Pickering both of Muncie, IN; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
