Ella Mae Helzer, 95 of Sellersburg, IN and formerly of Otisco, IN passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Maple Manor Christian Home in Sellersburg.
Mrs. Helzer was born January 10, 1919 in Akron, OH the daughter of William Edward and Bertha Jane Wright Horstman. She retired from the Otisco Post Office after several years of service as an Assistant Post Master. Ella Mae was an active member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church a former Pink Lady volunteer at the St. Catherine Regional Hospital in Charlestown.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Haworth of Otisco, IN; grandchild, Heather Haworth of Jeffersonville; great-grandchild, Hailey Haworth of Jeffersonville; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin Edward Helzer on July 23, 1980 and a brother, Hern W. Horstman.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Emmanuel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday until time of services. Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
