Elizabeth May (Steele) Brooks

Elizabeth May Brooks 59, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Saturday February 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 9, 1963, in Louisville, Ky to James and Nancy Moore Steele who preceded her in death.  Elizabeth retired as treasurer from Charlestown Middle School.  She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids, animals, gardening and riding horses.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 37 years Jeffrey Brooks, daughters, Kayla Swinney (Nathan) of Charlestown and Megan Brooks ( Zach Hardin) of Charlestown; brothers, Jimmy Steele (Cindy) of Jeffersonville, IN and Jeff Peterson (Diane) of Illinois; sisters, JoAnn Masingo (Dale) of Charlestown and Jan Coyle (Chris) of Charlestown; grandchildren, Mylie, Kendall, Connor and Brooks.

In accordance with Elizabeth’s wishes cremation was chosen and no services are scheduled at this time.
