Elizabeth L. Boyer

Elizabeth L. Boyer Elizabeth L. Boyer, 86, formerly of Otto, Indiana, died on Tuesday, February 9, 2011, in the Sonora nursing unit at Splendido in Oro Valley, Arizona. Born March 5, 1924, in Otto, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Omer and Mary Boyer. She graduated from Hanover College in 1941, and received her Master’s degree in mathematics from Purdue University in 1945. and a second Master’s degree in teaching mathematics a year later from the Illinois Institute of Technology Following graduation she spent a year in Japan teaching mathematics to children of American civilian and military employees. Upon her return, she taught High School mathematics for 38 years in Illinois, California and Indiana. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her 4 brothers, Clarence, Stewart, Joseph and Gilbert. She is survived by her 2 sister-in-laws, Joan and Barbara Boyer, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service at the Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington, Indiana will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on June 6, 2011. Friends are invited to attend the service and pay respects to the family.
