Mrs. Mahieu, age 86, passed away Wednesday the 31st of December in Albuquerque. Eleanor was born on Sunday, October 8th,1922 in New Albany, Indiana, to her parents Perry Gibson Clapp and Eleanor Conner Clapp. She was married to Gregory William Marr on June 7th 1940, who preceded her in death on May 23rd, 1943. She was married to Gerald Lee Mahieu on Sept. 2nd, 1945, who preceded her in death on 27th of June 1980.

She was a mother to three sons, grandmother to five, and great grandmother to nine. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Mahieu. Surviving are her sons, Stephen Mahieu and his wife, Sherry, of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Gregory Marr and his wife, Guyda, of Colorado Springs, Colorado,; her grandchildren: Susan, Sonia, Lisa, Brian and David; and one brother, David Clapp and his wife, Mary Vayola Clapp of Marysville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her brother Conner Clapp, and sister Winifred Homrighous.

Eleanor was dedicated member of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years where she was elected as Worthy Matron. She was also a past-president of the Gold Star Wives Club, "Zia Albuquerque" Chapter. Eleanor retired from civil service as the head librarian at Edgewood Chemical Biological Center, Edgewood, Maryland, in 1982.
