Edwin D. Johnson

Edwin D. Johnson,74 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Tuesday August 13, 2019 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.  He was born on April 14, 1945 in Weir, KY to Att and Gertie Rager Johnson, Sr.

Mr. Johnson was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Army who served his country for 24 years.  After his retirement from the Army he went to work for the Jeffersonville Housing Authority as a section 8 inspector.  Edwin attended the North Charlestown Church of God, was a member of the  American Legion Post #335, VFW Post #1427, and he enjoyed volunteering with the Food Pantry at the First Baptist Church in Charlestown.  He was a member of the Clark Co. Health Board, and the Southern Indiana Coon Hunters Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Brenda Johnson, and his brothers Att Johnson, Jr. and Jimmy Johnson

Edwin is survived by his children: Edwin Dewayne Johnson (Mona) of Fisherville, KY, John W. Johnson (Khristy) of Charlestown, and Tony Johnson (Lisa) of Charlestown; his grandchildren Brandi, Adam, Kassandra, Trevor, and Logan; his great grandchildren Ethan and Dylan; and his longtime companion Sharon Jones of Charlestown.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday August 17, 2019 at 11:00am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial to follow in Crace Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday August 16 from 2-8pm and again on Saturday beginning at 9am.
