Edwin Elwood Flaherty, 68 of Charlestown passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015.
Mr. Flaherty was born May 10, 1948 in Lake Charles, LA. the son of Edwin Easton and Isabelle Fisher Flaherty. He was a retired from the United States Navy as a Senior Chief. His memberships include the Madison, IN American Legion Post #9, Charlestown V.F.W #1427, Commander of the Sellersburg Disabled American Veterans and attended Sunnyside Assembly of God Church in Jeffersonville, IN.
Survivors include his wife Edna Woolman Flaherty; sons, Chad E. Flaherty of Louisville, KY and Shane W. Flaherty of Charlestown; sister, Linda G. Outon of Texas; step-brothers, Patrick Hale of Lafayette, LA and Shannon M. Hale of Moss Bluff, LA; step-sisters, Katie Chapman of Texas, Nancy Villion of Ragley, LA, Rachel Ebarb of Hemphill, TX and Missy Landreaux of Lake Charles, LA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Friday until time of services.
