Edna Lee Copas, 77, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at her home.
She was born on March 11, 1938 to Victor and Goldie (Duncan) Payton in Olaton, KY. She was a homemaker, worked for the old ICI Americas for ten years, cleaned homes, and was a member of the Main Cross Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Clifford; brothers, David, Hershel, J.C., George, and Dale Payton; nephew, Tommy Payton; niece, Sheila; great-grandson, Dylan.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Copas of Charlestown, IN; sons, Robert Copas of Clarksville, IN, and Kevin Copas of Wichita, KS; daughter, Valerie Brown of Charlestown, IN; sisters, Juanita Cook of Charlestown, IN, Teresa Whitworth of Leitchfield, KY, Regina Harris of Leitchfield, KY, Lucille Payton of Leitchfield, KY, and Linda Muerer of New Albany, IN; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 2pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Thursday.
