Dr. Jones was born on April 6, 1931 in Russell Springs, KY to Kilbreth and Ruby Hale Jones and died Sunday March 25, 2007 at Washington County Memorial Hospital in Salem. He was a family practioner in Charlestown since 1958 and was a member of the A.M.A., I.S.M.A. and the American Academy of Family Practioners. He was also a former board member and Chief of Staff at Clark Memorial Hospital and St. Catherine Regional Hospital.
He was preceeded in death by his first wife Louise Jones and his son Richard Jones.
Survivors include his wife the former Sarah Lambert; sons, Joe D. Jones and Dr. John G. Jones; daughter, Marianne Smith; step-daughters, Karen Floyd and Susan Campbell; brother, James Jones; sister, Margarett Bennett and grandchildren; David, Katie, Jenni, Alex, Brian, Cullen, Derek and Megan Jones, Lindsey and Andrew Smith. and a great grandchild Kelan Jones.
