Dorothy (Kursner) Turner

Dorothy Turner, 99 of Charlestown passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

Dorothy was born April 12, 1922, the daughter of John and Effie Kursner of New Market, IN. She was a Jehovah’s Witnesses for the past 60 years and attended the Kingdom Hall in Charlestown, IN. Dorothy was known for her cooking, baking, especially her cherry pie and all were welcome at her table. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family and all that were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ross Turner; daughters, Lana Bussey and Sheila Knowles; brother, John Wilburn Kursner; sister, Marie Amy.

Dorothy is survived by her, daughters, Judy Turner and Connie Standifer both of Charlestown, IN; son, Larry Turner and his wife Josie of Scottsburg, IN; grandchildren, Tammy Woods of Scottsburg, IN, Julian Todd (Alma) of Scottsburg, IN, Teresa Ramon (Frank) of Charlestown, IN, Jason Ingram of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Travis R. Bussey of Memphis TN, Rebecca Bussey of California; four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy’s wish was to be cremated and have Her ashes buried in Charlestown Cemetery next to her husband with no public services.
