Mrs. Doris “Sue” Dixon Webster, age 78, formerly of Charlestown, IN entered this life on November 18, 1937, in Scott County, IN, the daughter of Paul and Janie Dixon. She was raised in Lexington, IN and attended Lexington High School. She was baptized at Scottsburg, IN on August 28, 1949. Sue was united in marriage to James William Webster on September 24, 1954 at Lexington Christian Church. To this union arrived three daughters and two sons to bless their home. They moved to Charlestown, IN in 1956 where they raised their family. Sue was a very gifted seamstress and enjoyed multiple crafts and collections. The family will long treasure the handmade gifts that she created. She worked at I.C.I. Americas and at General Electric where she retired in 1995. She was a faithful member of Kent Christian Church for nearly fifty years and later joined Paynesville Christian Church. She was blessed with sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Sue died Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN with loved ones by her side.
Sue will be missed by her loving daughters, Donna Martin and her husband Max of New Albany, IN, Cindi Johns of Charlestown, IN and Kathy Combs and her husband John of Charlestown, IN; her loving sons, Thomas Webster and his wife Brenda of Evansville, IN, Jeffrey Webster and his wife Cindy of Charlestown, IN; sister, Paula Smith and her husband Don of Nabb, IN; sixteen loving grandchildren, Megan, Susan, Brian, Kevin, James, Sarah, Jeffrey, Ashleigh, Ashley, Allison, Matthew, Katy, Chelsea, Jordan, Amy and Emily; eight loving great-grandchildren, Arianna, Remington, Ronan, Quentyn, Parker, Preston, Natalie and Addilynn; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her husband James Webster, parents Paul and Janie Bowling Dixon, and by her brother Fred Dixon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Grayson Funeral Home with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 pm to 9 pm on Wednesday and after 9 am on Thursday.
