Donald Lee Johnson

Donald Lee Johnson, 83, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.

He was born on March 10, 1937 to Herbert and Katherine (Pauline) Shofner Johnson in Louisville, KY. He was a retired security guard for I.C.I. in Charlestown and a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was huge UK fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Darla Cherise Johnson;  brother, Curtis Johnson;  sister, Betty Whales;  brother, Robert Larry Johnson;  brother, Stanley Douglas Johnson;  brother, John Johnson and his cats Bullet and Checkers.

Donald is survived by his wife, Grace Johnson of Charlestown;  daughters, Debora Whelan of Jeffersonville and Donna Johnson of Charlestown; son, Doug  Johnson (Rebecca) of Charlestown;  brothers, David Johnson of Stuart, FL, Joseph Johnson of Shepherdsville, KY, Bruce Johnson of Shepherdsville;  Jeff Johnson of Bardstown, KY;  Sisters, Elaine Morris of Shepherdsville; Susie Elzy of Shepherdsville;  Rosie Mann of Shepherdsville, Linda Farris of Shepherdsville;  Grandson, Michael Johnson (Miranda) of Floyds Knobs;  Granddaughter, Kelly Usowski (Nathan) of Charlestown;  Granddaughter, Danielle Whelan of Jeffersonville;  Granddaughter, Noella Whelan of Jeffersonville;  Grandson, Justin Johnson of Charlestown;  Grandson, Ryan Johnson of Charlestown;  Granddaughter, Reina Robbins of Jeffersonville;  Grandson, Noah Johnson of Charlestown and his  beloved cat Socks.

Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 PM to 8 pm on Tuesday and after 11 am on Wednesday.

Due to the current Federal, State and County mandates regarding gatherings and funerals only ten people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time.  Please be aware that if you come you may have to wait.  The family and we here at Grayson Funeral Home will accommodate you during this time.
