Donald Joseph Disch, 85 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Diversacare of Providence in New Albany, IN.

Mr. Disch was born on August 22, 1931 in Jefferson County, IN the son of Charles Franklin and Mae Janet Housefield Disch. Donald was an Electrical Engineer a graduate of the old Central High School in Madison, IN he loved his grandfather and started farming with him at 6 years old, attended Canterbury College, Indiana University, Kentucky University and was a graduate of the University of Louisville, Technical Institute of Speed Scientific School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, worked for the Indiana and Kentucky Electric Corporation in Madison, IN. Donald started his career with Brown and Williamson in 1964 in Lexington, KY, he then moved to the Louisville, KY Plant until 1983 at which time he moved to the new Macon, GA. Plant and retired there in 1996. Donald was a Episcopalian, a member of the Kentucky Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, Charlestown, IN American Legion and Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Wilmeth Gibbs Disch of Charlestown; sons, Joe Paul Disch(Sherri) and Dana Matthew Disch both of Charlestown, IN, Jeffrey Andrew Disch(Teresa) of Augusta, GA; sisters, Patsy Lou Barnes(Jerry) of Madison, IN and June Lavonne Ellis(Larry) of New Palestine, IN; grandchildren, Stephen, Daniel, Joshua and Dani Jo; great-grandchildren, Jackson Cain, Bentley, Jason, Ryan Alan, Kirsten Grace and Brayden Ashton. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Madison, IN with burial to follow. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 to7:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.
