Dexter Ray Carver, 88, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born on February 27, 1929 to Vanus and Kitty (Goad) Carver in Lascassas, TN. He was a retired painter and machinist for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company, and a member of the Park Street Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Barry Carver; former wife, Helen Carver; grandson, Brian Adams; 9 brothers.
Survivors include his daughters, Kathy Gibson (Mike) of Charlestown, IN, Janette Adams (Bill) of Charlestown, IN, Annette Trump of Jeffersonville, IN, and Sonya Brewer (Randy) of Charlestown, IN; brother, Dortch Carver of Lafayette, TN; grandchildren, Eugene Gibson, Tony Carver, Michele Middleton, Jesse Trump, Jeremy Carver, Lucas Brewer, and Cara Hargrove; great-grandchildren, Caden, Braylin, and Zander Trump, Khloe Ongoy, Garret Middleton, Ana Nicole Adams, Andrew Brian Adams, Jacob Carver, Haley Miskill, and Barry Carver.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 2pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Thursday.
