Derice Griffith Hatfield, Sr. 96 died Saturday December 15, 2012 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
He was born on August 27, 1916 in Paris, KY to William and Epsie Feeback Hatfield. He was a Army veteran of World War II, a member of the First Baptist Church in New Washington and the New Washington Masonic Lodge # 167, a retired security guard for Tube Turns in Louisville, KY., a former greeter at Wal-mart and a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Leah Hatfield, son Derice Griffith Hatfield, Jr and 1 brother and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his daughters; Linda Sue Balmer (Jerry) of Charlestown, IN, Janice Lynn Hatfield of Jeffersonville, IN, Martha Carol West (Jerry) of Underwood, IN and Virginia Schindler (George) of Nabb, sisters; Betty Aguiar of Fairburn, GA and Mildred Laughlin of Scottsburg, IN., 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
