Deloris “Grandma” Cox, 84 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN.
Deloris was born on July 22, 1938 in Milton, KY the daughter of John and Annabelle Dabney Taylor. She worked at the Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, Ashland Oil, Dairy Queen in Sellersburg and at the end of working career at McDonalds in Charlestown. Deloris was a member of the Charlestown Church of God. She was an avid University of Kentucky Fan, and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and just enjoyed talking to everyone, never met a stranger.
Deloris is survived by her children, Rhonda Kern and her husband Tim of Otisco, IN, Kennea May of Charlestown, IN, Shetila Rambert and her husband Marshall of Sellersburg, IN, Kevin May of Charlestown, IN, Ronald May of Charlestown, IN, and James Farmer of Charlestown, IN. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl Cox Jr.; sons, Daniel and Clinton May; brothers, Stanley and Wyman Taylor; sister, Judy Harvey; grandchildren, Jason Breeden and Dale May; great-grandchild, Alexander Raiser.
Life Celebration services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday.
