Delores Louise Dunn, 66 of Charlestown, passed away on Saturday, Ocotber 10, 2015 at her son’s home in Floyds Knobs.
Delores was born June 12, 1949 in Jeffersonville, IN the daughter of Elbert and Pearl Alberta Townsend Courtney. She was a retired Mail-Carrier for the Palmyra, IN Post Office serving for over 25 years. Delores was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Charlestown and served in the Women’s Army Corps during the Viet Nam War and enjoyed working in her garden and flowers.
Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Barnes(Kevin) of Lanesville, IN; son, Robert Dunn(Catherine) of Floyds Knobs, IN; sister, Janice Cortner of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren, Josh Barnes, Leila Dunn, Jackson Dunn, Cooper Dunn and Carolyn Dunn. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Betty Jean Franklin; brothers, Bobby and Elbert Jr. Courtney.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Graceland Cemetery in New Albany, IN. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Dunn may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or the James Graham Brown Cancer Center in Louisville, KY.
