He was born on February 8, 1950 in Tupelo, MS to Marvin Eugene and Ruby Johnson Kitchens.
David is survived by his brother William Kitchens (Barbara) of MS, his sisters Sarah Thomas (Ronnie) of Tupelo, MS, Frances Allen (Don) of Oxford, MS, and Linda Boggs (Bill) of Lexington, IN.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Allen, Travis, Marshall, and James Kitchens as well as his sisters Carol Nabors and Annette Archer.
Cremation was chosen by the family.
