David Farmer James

David Farmer James, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020 at his home in Lexington, KY, after a brief illness.  He is survived by his sons, Dennis and Kevin, both of Lexington, KY, and his brother, Jim James (Joan) of Charlestown, IN.  Survivors also include four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Morrison James; his sister, Judy James Nelson; and his parents, David L. James, and Ann Farmer James Burns.

David was born in Charlestown and lived there many years before moving to Kentucky.  While living in Charlestown, he was active in civic affairs, having belonged to the Optimist Club and the Oddfellows Lodge, and served on the board of the Charlestown school system.  He was a member of the Charlestown Christian Church.  He retired in 2000 after holding sales positions with meat companies Southern Star, Swift, Armour and ConAgra.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm, in the Charlestown Cemetery, Charlestown Indiana.

Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown is in charge of the arrangements.
