David L. ('Corky') Decamp

David L. (Corky) DeCamp, 79, Marysville, entered his heavenly home on July 18, 2023.

David was born on May 24, 1944. He retired from LG&E after 35 years of service. David also built over 50 homes for friends and family in the New Washington area. He enjoyed playing softball and bowling and was a member of several teams and leagues throughout the years. David was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church and the New Washington Masonic Lodge #167, and Milford Kentucky Lodge #158. He had just received the Masonic "50 Year Award of Gold" for dedicated membership.

David especially enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

David was preceded in death by his father, Charles Bruce DeCamp, an infant son, and sister-in-law, Libby Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Karen DeCamp; daughter, Kim Dietrich (Todd), Otisco, IN; son, Jeff DeCamp (Becki), Marysville, IN; sisters-in-law, Gayle Hebner (Mike), New Washington, IN, Debby Carroll (Bruce), Nabb, IN, brother-in-law, Bob Smith (Mary), Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Colton Dietrich (Brenda), Windsor, MO, Clayton Dietrich (Jenna), Otisco, IN, Emma DeCamp, Marysville, IN; seven great-grandchildren; and a special family friend, Tim Cochran.

Life Celebration Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Grayson Funeral Home, New Washington, IN, with burial in Owen Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday and after 9:00 am on Saturday. Masonic services will be at 7:00 pm on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of love may be made to the Owen Creek Cemetery Association (c/o Grayson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 146, New Washington, IN. 47162) or Amedisys Hospice Care (c/o Amedisys Foundation 3854 American Way, Suite Way, Baton Rouge, LA 70816).  The family would like to thank the Amedisys staff for the loving care and support given to our family during David's illness.
