David W. Badger, Sr.

David W. Badger, Sr., 73 of Henryville, IN passed away on Saturday April 24, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.

He was born on July 27, 1947 in Clark Co., IN and retired at age 50 from General Electric after 30 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 44 years, Joyce Hall Badger before she passed away in 2010.

David coached his sons and numerous other boys at the Henryville Little League.  He grew up & worked hard on his family’s farm on Speith Rd in Henryville and attended Henryville schools where his sons & grandsons would also attend.

After retirement, he could be found at the local Goodfellas or Budroes or out buying tons of valuable junk at auctions with his partner in crime of three years, Wanda.  Dave enjoyed attending his grandsons’ sporting events. Not only was he their biggest fan, but extremely proud of each one of them.  Dave was the best of men.  There are numerous stories of Dave helping people in need without being asked or ever expecting anything in return. He was a kind man with a great sense of humor & easy laugh. His grandsons enjoyed hearing stories of his youth racing cars and playing pranks like the Green lady ghost.

Dave is survived by his sons, David W. Badger, Jr and his wife Jennifer of Henryville and Scott Badger and his wife of Rita of Henryville; brothers, Charles Badger and his wife Barbara of Henryville and Wayne Badger of Columbus, IN; sister, Martha Beasley and her husband Bob of Salem, IN and grandchildren Alex Badger and his wife Taylor, Mason Badger, Trevor Badger, Brant Badger and Kade Badger.

Life Celebrations Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday May 1, 2021 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday and after 9:00 am on Saturday.
