David "Boney" Armstrong

David “Boney” Armstrong, 61 of Charlestown passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, IN.

David was born on March 28, 1956 in Clark County, IN the son of James Douglas Armstrong, Sr. and Mary “Tomie” Armstrong-Shain. He was a professional truck driver for several different companies over his career and served in the United States Air Force. Boney was a retired Volunteer Firemen for the Charlestown Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Sellersburg Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Swearingen Armstrong; daughter, Jessica R. Fugate (Dominic Geary) of Charlestown; sons, Bruce Armstrong and Tyler Morris both of Jeffersonville; mother, Mary “Tomie” Armstrong Shain of Charlestown; sister, Terri Jo O’Leary (Bob) of Charlestown; brother, Jimmy “Peabody” Armstrong (Brenda) of Perrysburg, OH; grandchildren, Brianna and Jayden Fugate of Charlestown. Boney was preceded in death by his father, James D. Armstrong, Sr. and his Pop, Eddie Shain.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of services. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Armstrong may take the form of donations to Crusade for Children or Metro United Way.
