Darrel L Cooper

Darrel L. Cooper, born on August 15, 1953, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, at his residence. A lifetime farmer and gardener, Darrel dedicated his life to nurturing the land and sharing its bounty with others. His passion for the outdoors extended beyond farming; he was an avid hunter and fisherman, often found enjoying the tranquility of nature, forging unforgettable memories with friends and family.

Darrel is survived by his loving sisters, Brenda Cartright (Jerry) from Okeechobee, FL, Carolyn Clark from Charlestown, IN, and Sharon Johnson (Mike), also from Charlestown, IN. He is cherished by several extended family members who will remember him fondly.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Forest and Virginia (Baird) Cooper, as well as his brothers, Forest Cooper Jr. and Rickie Cooper.

Cremation was Darrel's wishes and be buried with his family at the Cooper Family Cemetery in Charlestown. The family respectfully asked that expressions of love and sympathy take the form of donations to the Cooper Family Cemetery c/o Gary Spencer, 303 Amburgey Drive, New Albany, IN. 47150
