Daniel Caldwell Sr., 65 of Lexington, IN passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, IN.
Daniel was born July 12, 1948 in Huntsville, TN the son of Jake and Princess Farmer Caldwell. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel in Michigan City, IN as a Crane Operator after 33 years.  Daniel was a Veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam War.  Daniel was a member of the New Bethel Community Church in Lexington, Scottish Rite, Masonic Lodge, V.F.W, American Legion and a former Commander of the Disabled American Veterans. Daniel was an avid sportsman.
Survivors include his wife Tammy Shelton Caldwell; whom he married August 12, 2006; daughter, Terry Lynn Allen and her husband Joe of Palmyra, IN; sons, Daniel Caldwell Jr. and his wife Sara of Madison and Jason Douglas Caldwell of Michigan City, IN., brothers, Verlin and Wayne Caldwell of TN, Claude Caldwell of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Vicky of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Kayla, Shelby, Robert, Kimberly, Joey, Amber, Danny, Caitlyn, Courtney, Paige and Nia; great-grandchildren, Christian, Jayden, Annabella and Dalton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Raymond and Anna Lee Shelton of Lexington, IN. and several nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Hayes and Lloyd Caldwell and a half-sister’s, Birdie & Eva.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Hanover, IN with burial in New Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday beginning at 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.m. and from 11:00 A.M. on Friday until time of service. Expressions of Sympathy in memory of Daniel may take the form of donations to the New Bethel Church Missions or the Medical Equipment Ministry.
