Curtis Ingram, 83, of Charlestown, went to his Heavenly Father Monday, March 7, 2016 at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany, IN.

He was born on February 20, 1933 to Henry and Cora Ingram in Line Fork, KY. He was a retired electronic technician at General Electric; he spent 23 years volunteering at the First Baptist Church Food Pantry, a member of the Masonic Lodge #226, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, IN, a Kosair Shriner, and a member of the St. Michaels Catholic Church. He served in the US Army as an MP stationed in military bases at Fort Hood in Killeen, TX, and Kirtland Air Force Military Base in Albuquerque, NM. This is where he found his everlasting Rose, who was of the Pueblo of Laguna Indian Tribe, marrying her in 1951. Curtis enjoyed gardening, traveling to the southwest, across country, his family pets, horse racing, and years of enjoyment with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Alonzo Ingram; brothers, Leon, and Vincent Ingram; sister, Irene Kisor.

Survivors include his son, Ronald J. Ingram (Linda) of Memphis, IN; daughters, Barbara Knoop (Chris) of Louisville, KY, Debra Johnson (Eddie) of Louisville, KY, and Jerri Ettel (Mike) of Marysville, IN; grandchildren, Michael Gardner, Ryan Johnson (Sarah), and Chelsie Vervoren (Josh); great-grandson, Logan Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 1pm at the Grayson Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm, and after 10am on Friday. Masonic services will be held on Thursday night at 7pm at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 335, and the VFW Post 1427.
