Claudis Raymond Henderson, Jr., 85, of Charlestown, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born on January 13, 1930 to Claudis and Celia (Corey) Henderson, Sr. in Nabb, IN. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War, a retired machinist for American Synthetic Rubber in Louisville, KY, member of the Blazing Star Masonic Lodge #226, and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jimmy, William, Water, Joseph, Viva, Kenneth, Viola, and Edward.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ellen (Cornett) Henderson of Charlestown, IN; sons, Richard Henderson of Charlestown, IN, and Randall Henderson of Charlestown, IN; brother, John R. Abbott of Scottsburg, IN; sisters, Virginia Abbott of Charlestown, IN, Vivian Bressler of Scottsburg, IN, Martha Righthouse of Marysville, IN, Delcia Smith of Marysville, IN, and Vada Short of Lexington, IN; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 2pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 2pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Thursday. Masonic services will be held on Wednesday evening at 7pm at the funeral home.
