Clara Nell Caswell, 84, of Madison and formerly of Chelsea, IN, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at King’s Daughters’ Hospital.
Mrs. Caswell was born on March 29, 1930 in Henry County, IN the daughter of Opha and Nellie Webster Stickelman who preceded her in death, and the wife of Roy “Pete” Caswell who passed away November 22, 2006. Clara was a member of the Nebraska, Indiana Church of God, and the Order of Eastern Star #525 in Hanover and enjoyed crocheting and word puzzles.
Survivors include her daughter, Delores Barnes (Steve ) of Deputy, IN; one son, Gary Caswell (Peggy ) of Orlando Florida; one sister, Mary Whitehouse of New Castle, IN; 9 grandchildren, Laura Nell Petri, Gary W. Caswell, Jr., Sandy Kay Moreland, Todd Moreland, Lynette Anderson, Angie Sloan, Donnie Marshall, Jr., Tina Bell and Jason Barnes; 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.
Mrs. Caswell is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 7 brothers, John, Harold, Samuel, Charles, Robert and Ronald Stickelman and Horace Larrabee; 3 sisters, Elsie Higginbothan, Dorothy Branum and Hilda Sheets.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 3:30 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Hanover with burial in New Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be held beginning at 1:30 Sunday until time of services. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to New Bethel Church or New Bethel Cemetery Association cards will be available at the funeral home.
