Chuck Phillips, 63 of Charlestown passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at his home.
Chuck was born on February 16, 1952 in Charlestown, IN the son of Henry “Bud” and Edith Larkin Meyer. He was a former Salesman for King Bearing Co. in Louisville, KY and served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Phillips was a member of the Charlestown United Methodist Church, Charlestown American Legion, enjoyed playing golf, gardening and traveling especially to the beach.
Survivors include his wife, Shelia Sumrall Phillips; step-sons, Keith Vaughn(Sheila) Henryville, IN and Eric Vaughn(Kerri) of Charlestown; brother, James “Tree” Phillips(Charlotte) of Charlestown; six grandchildren, Michael, Erika, Nathan, Addison, Maci and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carolyn Puckett; brother, John McMillen; George and Elizabeth Phillips who raised him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 5:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. and after 4:00 P.M. Friday until time of services. Expressions of Sympathy in memory of Mr. Phillips may take the form of donations to the American Kidney Foundation.
