Cherilynn Blevins, 66, of New Washington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at her daughter's home after a brave fight with lung cancer.
She was born on October 25, 1954 in Jeffersonville, IN to Hubert and Edith Johnston Clemons the youngest of 13 children. She was generous and passionate about everything she did, people, causes, politics, quilting and collecting fabric. Her most rewarding job was running the GED program at the Alternative school for Great Clark County Schools.
She was a former Educator for Greater Clark County Schools and also for the Scott County School system. She is preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Gary Cornell and Elmer Blevins and several siblings and three nephews.
Cherilynn is survived by her daughter, Candi (John) May of Nabb, IN; stepson, Tim (Jody) Sexton of New Washington; brothers, Bill Higdon of Louisville, KY and Cyril Higdon of New Washington; sisters, Nell Clark of Dana Point, CA, Linda Bradley of Elizabethtown, KY, Shirley Bauman of Jeffersonville, Rose Mary Henry of Jeffersonville; granddaughters, Jenna Wilson, Kayla Sexton, and Lizzie Lynn; grandsons, Nathan Wheeler, Jaxon Lynn and Drew Lynn. Her partner, Ricky Lynn of New Washington and his children, Sophia, Alex and Andrew Lynn.
Life Celebration Services will be at 2 pm on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Grayson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday at the Grayson Funeral Home. Cherilynn was well known for her saying: "Today I Choose Joy".
