Charlotte Graebe Allen, 97 of New Washington, IN, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at her daughter’s home surrounded by family.
She was born on June 11, 1918 to Hiram and Rebecca (McHenry) Graebe in Clark Co., IN. She was a homemaker, farmer, avid seamstress, retired employee of the old ICI America, and was involved in many local organizations. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, tending to her garden and yard. Charlotte was also responsiable for the best homemade pies in all the land. She was a lifetime member of the Hibernia Christian Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emery Allen; son, Dwyitt Allen; brother, Wilfred Graebe.
Survivors include her son, Quentin Allen and his wife, Ruth of Clarksville, IN; daughter, Debra Franklin and her husband, Bub of New Washington, IN; grandchildren, Tisha Briles and her husband, Brent of New Washington, IN, Luke Franklin and his wife Carrie of Marysville, IN, and Chad Allen and his wife Kim of Georgetown, IN; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Trent, AJ, Kate, and Cohen. She is also survived by people other than relatives that called her Grandma Charlotte. She
loved people and they loved her in return.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington, with burial in the Hibernia Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 2pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Monday.
