Charles “Peanuts” Wilson, 77 of Charlestown died Wednesday September 28 at Clark Memorial Hospital. A funeral mass will be held Saturday October 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Michael Catholic Church, Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.
He was born in Louisville, KY and was a retired employee of the City of Charlestown. He was a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church. He was a cherished Husband, Father, Brother, Paw Paw, and Uncle.
Survivors include his siblings Helen Stymest of Lynn Haven, FL; Rosie Bishop of Louisivlle, KY; Mildred “Inez” Collett of Shepherdsville, KY; Pat (Winnie) Wilson of Hopkinsville, KY; Betty (Glenn) Cole of Scottsburg, IN; Esther (Jerry) Wolfgang of Mountain Home, ID; Joey (Doug) Lagerholm of Clarksville, IN; Stepsons Harley Jenkins of Prospect, KY; Bill Jenkins of New Albany, IN; Granddaughters Lora Jenkins and Emily Jenkins both of Jeffersonville, IN and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Erma Jenkins Wilson, his parents Oscar and Alverda Wilson and three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and after 9:00 am on Saturday at Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown. A Rosary service will be at 7:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to his church Saint Michael Catholic Church Building Fund.
