Charles Hansford Wampler

Charles Hansford Wampler, 89 formerly of Charlestown, IN passed away on Sunday morning November 10, 2019 in a hospice facility at The Villages in Florida.

Charlie was born on September 4, 1930 in Blacky, KY to Hillard and Nina Dixon Wampler.   He was an Airforce Veteran and, a retired mail carrier for the United States Post Office, a lifetime member of the V.W.F. Post 1427 in Charlestown and a member of the American Legion in Florida.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Judy Bottorff Wampler; daughters, Nina Sue Wampler of Billerica, MA and Deborah Burchel of Illinois; brother, Roger Wampler of LaGrange, KY and 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In accordance with Charlie’s wishes he was cremated and his ashes will be buried in Charlestown Cemetery sometime next spring.
