Charles W. Wilson, 79 of Charlestown was called to rest Friday September 5, 2014 at Lincoln Hills Healthcare Center in New Albany, IN.
Charles was born on December 23, 1934 in Morgantown, WV to Dale and Hazel Dalton Wilson. He met and married his wife of 59 years while being stationed at the Hutchinson Kansas Naval Air Station and has been a resident of Charlestown since 1964.
He was a Navy veteran and retired from International Harvester in Louisville, KY, worked at Louisville Forge and Gear and transported vehicles for Budget. He was a past master of Blazing Star Masonic Lodge # 226 F & AM; a Past Patron of Blazing Bright Chapter #597 O.E.S. Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and was a Murat Shriner of Indianapolis, American Legion Post 335 and Pleasant Grove Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Dale J. and Hazel K. Wilson and a sister Barbara Corbin. Charles has touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors in addition to his wife Fran Wilson; are daughter; Debbie Tackett of Jeffersonville, IN sister Ann Robison of Cibolo, Texas and a brother Dale R. Wilson of Cortland, OH and a large extended family of brothers-in law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday September 9, 2014 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Monday and after 9 am on Tuesday. Eastern Star services will be held at 7 pm on Monday with Masonic services following at 7:30 pm.
