Charles Nicholas Korte, Sr., 77, of Memphis, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 at his home.
He was born on July 10, 1935 to Anthony and Minnie (Goebel) Korte in Clark Co., IN. He was a retired maintenance worker for Louisville Cement Company, and a farmer. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Korte; sisters, Elizabeth Korte, and Mary Klotz.
Survivors include his sons, Mark Korte of Memphis, IN, Charlie Korte, Jr. of Memphis, IN, and Theron Korte of Salem, IN; daughter, Pam Maupin of Palm Beach, FL; brothers, Anthony Korte of Memphis, IN, and Raymond Korte of Salem, IN; sisters; Helen Atkins of Floyd Knobs, IN, Alma Schneller of Louisville, KY, and Margaret Schafer of Memphis, IN; 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the St. Michaels Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Friday.
