Cecil Wesley Vest

Cecil Wesley Vest, 68 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.

Cecil was born on April 20, 1952 in Jeffersonville, IN the son of Dub and Martha Jane Harvey Wilson. He retired from the former Colgate Plant in Clarksville, IN, Philip Morris Plant in Louisville, KY, Ford Truck and Auto Plants in Louisville, KY and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Cecil enjoyed playing golf at Speed Golf Club, taking care of his immaculate yard, a former square dance caller for the Pistols and Petty Coats, he was a breeder of Great Danes and owner of Dancing Danes. He was an avid poker player, but what brought him true joy was family; especially his grandsons Carson and Wesley whom he would face time on a daily basis.

He is survived by his wife Theresa “Terri” Mount Vest; son James Vest of Columbus, OH; daughter, Samantha Robinett and her husband Justin of Ogden, UT; brother, Doug Wilson of Scottsburg, IN; sister, Deanna Allen of Sellersburg, IN; grandsons, Carson and Wesley. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Rochelle “Shelly” Vest on March 16, 1991; brothers, Roy Wilson and Jay Kelley Jr.; infant sister, Debbie Wilson.

Life Celebration Services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and after 11:00 AM  on Thursday until the time of service.
