Carrie Hendricks, 86 of Hanover passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover.
Carrie was born on November 29, 1927 in Central City, KY the daughter of Shelly and Goldie Mae Scott Walker who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband D. W. Hendricks whom she married on March 15, 1943 and passed away on March 20, 1997, grandsons, Tony and Robert Weatherford, three sisters and two brothers. Carrie was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church, V.F.W. Post #1969 Ladies Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star Lodge in Hobart, IN, and she enjoyed quilting and crocheting
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Weatherford(Ronnie), Susan Wherry(Johnnie) both of Hanover and Sharon Long of Hobart, IN; sons, Jackie Hendrix(Gale) of La Porte, IN and David Hendricks(Tammy) of Hobart, IN; brother, Harvey Oliver(Virginia) of Hanover; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Howard Hendrix(Bonnie) of Hanover; sisters-in-law, Alma Mae Walker of Hanover and June Oliver of Portage, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial graveside services with burial in New Prospect Cemetery will be held at a later date. Grayson Funeral Home in Hanover is entrusted with the arrangements.
