Carolyn Ruth Roeder, passed away on August 27, 2025, at the age of 84, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Born on July 5, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky, Carolyn dedicated her life to her family, exemplifying devotion and care as a committed homemaker, mother, and wife, then she devoted 20 years of service at Clark Memorial Hospital,
Her love for her family was paramount, and she took immense pride in raising her three sons: Bruce Roeder (Jodi), Brent Roeder (Cynthia), and Brian Roeder. She extended her legacy through her cherished grandchildren: Alan, Mitchell, Robert, and Kristie Roeder, who will forever hold treasured memories of their grandmother's warm spirit and nurturing presence.
In addition to her loving family, Carolyn was a devoted member of Main Cross Baptist Church, where she enjoyed working alongside her husband of 42 years, Ralph Roeder, who predeceased her. Her faith and commitment to serving others were woven into the fabric of her daily life, and her absence will be felt deeply by her friends and fellow congregants.
Carolyn had a passion for life that was evident in her hobbies. She loved shopping, nurturing her flower garden, and spending time at the church, where she actively contributed to the community's well-being. Her personality shone brightly, making her a source of inspiration and support to everyone around her.
She leaves behind her brothers, Mike and Jimmy Crane, who, along with her sons and grandchildren, will continue to honor her memory. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Jeannie, Alma, Louise, Charlie, and Frankie, all of whom she missed dearly throughout her life.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, Indiana. Additional visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Main Cross Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana, with her true love Ralph.
